There lies an unfortunate chance of recurrence of cancer once one has suffered from it, irrespective of its type and the stage at which it was diagnosed. Follow-ups and check – ups, therefore become important post a cancer treatment.
Julie Caroline Ateino Odeimbo was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer in her home country Kenya. After undergoing a surgery and a hormonal replacement therapy, Mrs. Odeimbo was completely fit again. But somehow, she felt the need to do a PET scan for a further check – up. “But it was not available in Kenya”, said she. So she along with her husband came to India for her oncology check – up after her treatment.
“After searching for some time online, we came across Vaidam Health. They told us that PET scan is available in India, it is very affordable and indeed it is”, said Mrs. Odeimbo. In India, she went to Medanta – the Medicityin Gurgaon, New Delhi where her PET scan was performed by breast oncologist, Dr. Rajeev Agarwal.
“Given the uncertainty of what the results would be, I was a bit nervous and curious before my PET Scan. But, thankfully, I am assured now that I am completely fine and cancer will not bother me anymore. Medanta – the Medicity is an excellent hospital that harbors the latest and most sophisticated medical technology. Dr. Agarwal has been really helpful to me. After the PET scan he guided me on how should I maintain a healthy lifestyle”, said she. Her husband, Mr. Odeimbo had a preventive health check – up in the hospital as well.
Elated with prompt and consistent assistance provided by the team of Vaidam, Mr. Odeimbo said, “With the help of Vaidam, our medical travel experience to India has been remarkable. They are transparent, systematic, organized and very responsible. Apart from imparting the necessary information to us about the hospitals, doctors and the cost of the treatment, ample assistance has also been given to us regarding visa application and while we were in India. We also visited several places in India, including the Taj Mahal and the Rashtrapati Banvan and had a great time. I and my wife are very grateful to them and wish them good luck”.
