Donina Va’a from Australia Underwent a Successful Bariatric Treatment in India

Ms Donina Va’a from Australia has tried for the last decade to control her weight through numerous diets, gym workouts and meditation sessions. However it just became a yoyo game where she looses, puts on, looses and put on again. As a result several other health issues cropped up and finally through a specialist advice, she decided to seek alternatives to help resolve the aches, pains and sleep apnea issues that seemed to escalate. Ms Va’a researched for three months before choosing Vaidam Health to seek options in India her weight-loss treatment.

 “My weight issue led to other health problems. I was suffering from sleep apnea and had some major breathing problems. One of the doctors I saw said “gastric sleeve is the best thing you can do for yourself” and  Iresearched a bit on this prior to making the final decision to proceed.”, said Donina.

Ms Va’a noted that she spoke to over 10 Medical consultants and Hospitals via the internet prior to making the choice of Vaidam Health. When asked why she chose Vaidam Health, she stated; “the person I liaised with was extremely articulate and gave very detailed and timely responses. I would double check the information he would send me and they correlated with information I found. I also quite liked the fact that he did not try to entice me towards a particular hospital but instead gave me a comparison table of costs, inclusions, Doctor’s bio, expertise in field, hospital information, even available local accommodation at very reasonable prices. Oh and furthermore was able to assist in getting information around touristy activities. Additionally, the costs provided for his service almost made me fall out of my chair- I am so thankful indeed. So thankful am I, I would like to share my story so that others can benefit for themselves.”  

In India, Ms Va’a had her bariatric treatment at Medanta – the Medicity, Gurgaon, under Dr. Adarsh Chaudhary and Dr. Dharmendra Sharma. It will take 6 – 12 months for her to attain her normal weight.  Ecstatic with her treatment she said, “Medanta is a superb, squeaky clean hospital with all the facilities. I didn’t feel the lack of anything during my treatment and recovery post surgery. Perhaps though,  a little bit more luxury in the rooms and better food for the attendants would enhance the experience further, plus have at least a few nurses that speaks English for the International patients.

Ms Va’a recently messaged excitedly saying that since the surgery five weeks ago, she is has lost 15 kilos already. More important she is more energetic, able to get up without struggling and has had no complications at all!!!  “I am absolutely over the moon and I am absolutely appreciative to the two very skilled Dr. Chaudhary and Dr. Sharma. Dr Sharma was wonderful in his thorough discussions prior, during and post surgery and for that I would highly recommend him. “ she stated.

But, Ms Va’a also wanted to emphasize the following  “I need to add, that I am utterly grateful to Mr Pankaj Chadna of Vaidam Health for his expertise, mannerism, approachable manner and for ensuring a seamless process from the moment my daughter and I stepped into Delhi, till I reached home soil”. From providing detailed options to arranging transportation, to hospital appointments, to spending time with us elaboration and ensuring we are comfortable, to looking after my suitcase (hahaha) to having sim cards ready for us and liaising on our behalf, to organising sightseeing. Indeed I take my hat out to this gentleman.  Before coming to India, Ms Va’a had over 60 frequent conversations with Vaidam regarding the doctors and the treatment in India. Ms Va’a noted that “I had very long conversations electronically and via Viber for two months before I came to India. Upon arrival, the wonderful patient manager Saurabh was there to welcome us and ensured we have everything we needed. Saurabh also kindly accompanied us on a Delhi day trip to ensure all went smoothly  and this was free of charge!, Bohot acha”

Post surgery, Ms Va’a decided to follow orders to walk  around so she went on a shopping spree and took back three suitcases of wonderful goodies back to Australia. “I loved Chadni Chowk and your malls are simply amazing, the Taj Mahal, wow I fell in love again when I saw this marvellous Wonder of the World, the Jaypee Green and Golf Resort plus the Six senses Spa literally took my breath away! I will certainly be back to visit some of the other beautiful sights. India is a very colourful and magical place to be lost in.
