I am Dinesh Raj from Fiji. I am 61 years old.

What kind of medical issues did you have?

Several days ago, I started having pain in the chest along with mild shortness of breath. The chest pain was specifically noticed while carrying heavy weight objects or while applying force on some surface. After consultation with a cardiologist in Fiji, who advised me to have cardiac investigations, I was diagnosed with atherosclerosis. The doctor prescribed me medications including  Vast 40, aspirin and metoprolol.

How did you choose the place of your treatment?

I had been advised to get heart surgery done. But due to limited resources in Fiji, I had to come to India for the treatment. While I was looking for the best cardiology hospital in India, I stumbled upon the website of Vaidam Health. I posted a query on the website and got a call back shortly after that. The team asked me to share my reports to get an opinion from some of the best cardiac surgeons in India. In a short time, with the help of my case manager, I was able to choose Medanta Hospital, Gurgaon for the surgery.

Tell us about the procedure of visa application.

I was entirely assisted by the Vaidam team to do this. They helped me to get a Visa Invitation Letter by the hospital and also applied for the Visa. The procedure went on smoothly without any obstacle.

How did you arrange your pick up and stay in India?

Everything from my airport pickup and place of accommodation was arranged by the Vaidam team. They asked me about my preferences for the accommodation and booked the place as per my requirements.

How did your treatment go?

Soon after I reached my hotel, my appointment was scheduled with Dr. V.K Chopra. He was very humble in conversation and a patient listener. He asked me for a detailed medical history and about my current symptoms. Later, he did some physical examination and ordered further cardiac investigations. It was only after the reports came back, he confirmed that I would need Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting surgery and also explained to me about it. After taking my consent, the date was fixed for the surgery. The surgery went on placidly. I stayed in ICU under the observation for a few days before getting discharged. The doctor also explained to me in detail about the post-operative lifestyle changes that I would need to make after going back.

Tell us about your overall experience of the visit.

My entire visit was great. Everything was arranged by Vaidam and went on systemically. It was hassle-free. Moreover, the treatment in the hospital went well and successful. The entire staff was co-operative and sensitive to all my requirements. Thanks to the team and the hospital for the support.
