Chirango Marunze from Zimbabwe Receives a Healing Touch for Cancer Treatment in India By Dr Kapil Kumar of BLK Hospital

At the age of 64, Chirango Marunze was growing more and more frustrated with the hoarseness of her voice. When she began losing weight for no reason, her husband Arnold Marunze decided it best to see a specialist in their hometown of Zimbabwe, unfortunately, after multiple visits to the hospital, Chirango could not find any relief. Arnold then sought the help of Vaidam Health for suggestions on a second opinion and the two eventually made their way to BLK Hospital in New Delhi, amongst the top hospitals in India for Cancer treatment. Vaidam sat down with Arnold Marunze and his wife Chirango Marunze to hear about the experience in India.

Q: Please tell us about yourself?

Ans: My name is Arnold Marunze and my wife’s name is Chirango Marunze. Both of us come from Zimbabwe. The reason why we arrived in India was that my wife was diagnosed with oral cancer in February of 2018. It was a low-grade cancer.

Q: Why did you choose India for your treatment?

Ans: I Googled on the internet and I discovered Vaidam Health based in India. We subsequently began communicating with Heena Mehta who we later discovered was our case manager. Our case manager showed us multiple options where we could get the treatment and eventually we opted for BLK in New Delhi.    

Q: When did you arrive in India and how was your experience?  

Ans: We came to India on the 2nd of August and we were being treated at BLK hospital. The services we received by Vaidam were: we were received at the airport on arrival, they booked out hotel and other arrangements while in Delhi. Even while the treatment was going on at the hospital, we had a Vaidam personnel who was looking after us, make sure all necessary arrangement was taken care of. The entire experience was very convenient for us.

The treatment, in particular, was very interesting for us. The process was very simple, very cheap; the doctors were very dedicated and worked wholeheartedly. My wife is feeling much better today, and it’s mostly thanks to them.

Q: How was your experience with accommodation and food in India?  

Ans: Our stay in India was very comfortable. We were able to cook on our own. The type of food that we eat back home we were able to eat the same food here in India. Although, there was also food available here which we tried sometimes and also enjoyed.

Q: What would you like to say about your experience at BLK?    

Ans: We were being treated at BLK and our doctor was Dr. Kapil Kumar, leading surgical oncologist in India, who has been practicing medicine for 25 years. He is a man with a kind heart, he explained about the treatment and never for once seemed like he was going to lose his patients. Even the treatment that my wife went through, the medical team explained all the stages that they will be taking – they won’t take you by surprise.  

Q: Would you recommend others get treated in India?

Yes without a doubt. I would say that this was the best service I have experienced ever; even after being in numerous hospitals in my life. I highly recommend coming here for the best oral cancer treatment in India.
