After a Wait of 10 Years, Manuel Lunga and Camila Mateus from Angola Have Conceived a Child by IVF Treatment in India

It is wonderful to feel the curious gaze of those twinkling little eyes, the brush of tiny fingers across the cheeks and the very first amateur footsteps. It is fascinating to see a child to be born and grow healthily. It is every would-be parent’s dream. But certain health conditions hinder the possibility to conceive. Trying and waiting for about 10 years, Camila Mateus and Manuel Lunga finally decide to come to India from Angola for an IVF treatment.

“We have been trying to have a child for a very long time. After my wife was diagnosed with endometriosis, we even went for an IVF treatment in South Africa. Sadly, even that was not successful. It was a very difficult time in our lives where we could not find any hope. We thought that maybe a baby is not in our fate after all”, said Manuel Lunga.

Endometriosis is an abnormality in which the tissue that lines the inner walls of the uterus grows outside it causing varied painful symptoms and infertility.

In India, Camila and Manuel went to International Fertility Center in New Delhi for an IVF treatment under Dr. Rita Bakshi. “Though we opted for an IVF treatment before as well, we wanted to give it a second chance hoping that maybe this time it will be finally successful. And we were elated when our hopes materialized and Camila conceived successfully”, said he.
