It was time for Ashmin Lata to pack her bags and go to India. It was a one last try to get rid of her illness that inflicted her with severe abdomen pain. After several surgeries proved to be futile she was on the edge of losing all her hope. It was at this time that her friend told her to go for her treatment somewhere else.
“One of my friends told me to drop an enquiry in Vaidam Health’s website and that I may get my answers”, said Ashmin Lata. As told by her friend, she received an answer from one of our patient managers who guided her and gave her several recommendations of the best doctors and hospitals in India.

Almost 60, Ashmin Lata from Fiji has gone through six abdominal surgeries for her recurring hernia but was never completely cured of it. Finally, when she came to India, she found a comprehensive hernia treatment. “I really wanted to get over with it for good. I have been having hernia for a long time now and I even went to a lot of doctors in Fiji, but there was no respite”.
Though initially skeptical, she gradually started trusting her patient manager after a few telephone conversations. “After I talked to the patient manager at Vaidam Health I felt that I can trust them. When I arrived in India, my patient manager picked me and my husband from the airport, provided us with a comfortable accommodation and took care that we weren’t feeling uncomfortable in anyway”.
After going to a few hospitals, Lata finally settled for Batra Hospital & Medical Research Centre in New Delhi. “Dr. Vijay Hangloo at Batra Hospital was very cordial. He made me understand why even after six surgeries, I could not get rid of my ailment. I am really grateful to him for providing me with the hernia treatment and for taking care of me. The cost of the treatment was also reasonable there,” said she.
As she had already undergone six surgeries before, the treatment procedure was complicated but Lata did not step back. “The only thing I wanted was a cure. So, though the surgery was complicated, I didn’t care,” said she.
She stayed in India for around 15 days that included both her treatment and recovery. “I had to stay in the hospital for five days and the rest in my hotel for recovery,” Lata said.
Finally, happy as she was, Ashmin Lata showered her gratitude on the doctor and the whole team of Vaidam as she went back home, “I am really happy and relieved. I give my heartiest gratitude to Dr.Hangloo and to Vaidam Health without whom this wouldn’t have been possible”.
