Tell Us About Yourself
I am Abdul Gani from Fiji.
What made you come to India?
I had excruciating knee pain for a long time. I would feel pain while walking and even standing for a long time. I tried to get it treated by medical management but it did not work well. Ultimately, my doctor advised me to get knee replacement surgery. This is when I decided to come to India as it is known for quality treatment at affordable prices.
Who suggested to you about ISIC hospital?
When I started searching about the best orthopaedic hospitals in India, I stumbled upon the website of Vaidam Health. Since I was quite impressed with their concept, I decided to give it a shot and posted a query. Within a day, a team member from Vaidam phone me and asked for my reports. After I shared my reports, they gave me a few options for knee replacement surgery in India. The case manager also provided me with the profiles of these hospitals. I went through these profiles in detail and decided to visit the Indian Spinal Injuries Center, New Delhi.
Who arranged your trip to India?
Vaidam team did most of the work. The case manager arranged the Visa Invitation Letter from the hospital and helped me in applying for the medical visa. I received the visa in a very short time after which I booked my tickets. Gladly, they also arranged my airport pickup, my place of accommodation and my transport from the hotel to the hospital. Just after I arrived in India, my appointment was also fixed with Dr. Vivek Mahajan.
How was your experience with the doctor?
Dr. Vivek was very polite and kind in his conversation. He listened to me carefully and patiently. He then examined my knee, asked me several questions and sent me for further investigations. I got an MRI and an x-ray was done. Finally, he suggested me to go for the surgery.
The surgery room was well-maintained and equipped with modern equipment. Everybody wore a gown and a mask before entering the room. Hygiene was taken special care of. Dr. Vivek reached on time and made me feel relaxed for the surgery. The surgery was performed successfully. I was in the hospital for a week and then got discharged. The physiotherapist taught me some exercises to be done when I get back.
How was your overall experience in India?
The hospital staff, the doctor made me very comfortable during the surgery in the hospital. Other than this, Vaidam team took care of everything. My hotel was booked before my arrival. Their team member kept coming to the hospital and was there at the time of the hospital. He made sure I didn't face any problems during my treatment.
