74-year-old Sabriya Karim from Iraq Underwent a Successful Minimally Invasive Heart Bypass Surgery in India

For a couple of years 74-year-old Sabriya Karim experienced a difficulty in breathing and got easily exhausted. Though both the symptoms can be attributed to old age yet when she went for an angiogram in her home country, Iraq she understood that her age was not to be blamed for such conditions. The angiogram report revealed that she had multiple heart blockades.

 

“I didn’t know about it till the angiogram was performed. I thought it’s quite normal at my age and didn’t feel the need to undergo a medical treatment. The doctors in Iraq told me that I would require a heart bypass surgery. But the thought of an open heart surgery send chills down my spine. I told them frankly if I had to be operated I would prefer a minimally invasive heart bypass surgery”, said Karim.

 

 

Due to the unavailability of a minimally invasive procedure of bypass surgery, Karim along with her son searched for treatment options outside Iraq. “I and my son scuttled through the internet to see which countries provide such procedures.
