Yashoda Hospitals, Hyderabad launched emergency ambulance service for stroke patients on the occasion of World Stroke Day. These ambulances are equipped with trained nurse, trained doctor and a paramedic and will be in touch with neurologists of the hospital.
This service is available in a 100 KM radius outside the city and one can alert about stroke on emergency stroke number which is 105910. The CT scan would be done at the nearest diagnostic lab and pre-hospital care will be provided in the ambulance.
“Brain strokes are very serious issue, but it is not a death sentence anymore. Today, clot-dissolving medications can lessen the effects of paralysis. However, time is of essence”, says Dr. Pawan Gorukanti, Director of Yashoda Hospitals.
