- A 69-year-old man was brought back to life by the team of cardiologists at Apollo Hospital, Chennai, through Trans Aortic Valve Replacement Surgery (TAVR).
- Apart from his age, the patient's suffering from multiple cardiac conditions like deposits of calcium in the heart, stenosis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease complicated the case.
- He could not breathe, experienced a significant decrease in his appetite while his body weight dropped within a few months.
- According to senior intervantional cardiologist, Dr. Sengottuvelu, although a TAVR is generally performed on a tricuspid valve, the team of doctors have implemented the procedure on his bi-cuspid valve as the patient also suffered from congenital heart conditions.
