- 91-year-old ex-government official, Dharanendra Lagade decided to undergo an angioplasty after he had suffered from angina pain for a month.
- The medical history of his cardiac condition goes like this:
- 20 years ago Lagade has undergone a complicated heart bypass surgery.
- He also had a four-stent angioplasty about 10 years ago.
- But doctors found it difficult to analyse his case as none of his previous medical reports were available.
- According to his son Manish, Lagade cannot stay away from his daily yoga and gym regime and gets restless otherwise.
- As his chest pain posed a hindrance to his daily activities even after a month of medication, he went for an angioplasty.
- Because of his age and the medical history, the cardiologist at Jupiter Hospital (Mumbai), Dr. Vijay Surase said it was a challenging angioplasty.
- Dr. Surase even adds that his vessels, as hard as concrete, were vulnerable enough to break.
- He also had risks of kidney failure and stroke.
- His condition is stable now and he is ready to go back to home.
