- 23-year-old Osmah from Sana'a, Yemen is a blast survivor who had undergone 11 surgeries since 2014 but still could not find any respite.
- It was during one of the series of blasts in Sana'a, Yemen's capital, that Osmah's urinary bladder and rectum was badly ruptured.
- Since the incident he has sought treatments in Yemen, Iran and Oman.
- Though his previous surgeries helped him to recover from the injuries in his rectum, bladder, sciatic nerves of the legs and a pelvic fracture, yet passing of stool from his body became a painful ordeal.
- The severe injury during the blast has caused him rectum perforation because of which he had to depend on an artificial stool passage.
- Doctors at Bangalore initially had suggested "Residual Proctectomy Coloanal Pull Through & Diverting Ileostomy". But they soon dropped it due to the complexity of the case.
- Osmah then arrived at New Delhi where the surgery was finally performed successfully at Jaypee Hospital by a team of three doctors, namely, Dr. Kapoor, Dr. Dipankar Mitra and Dr. Amit Jain.
- Currently, Osmah is putting up in India for further follow-ups after his discharge from the hospital.
