Are you old- aged?
Or
Do you have an ‘A’ Type blood group?
If yes, your bad luck!
Is it so?
Myths or Facts?
The answer is still full of uncertainty. Evidence must support your hypothesis, whatever we say, whatever we write should have solid facts in support. But, yes… susceptibility catches those who respond “too light and undoubtedly too late”. Here the role is whole and sole played by our immune system. Age is not an element affecting the encounter by a coronavirus. To support the mentioned statement, we have an example of a 101 years old man of Italy who had survived Spanish Flu in the 1910s and now successfully recovered COVID -19. Similarly, a 93 years old lady also recovered from this deadly disease. However, a lot of aged people are being caught by this deadly disease due to their weak immunity and bad medical background. It doesn’t mean that old aged people should worry but yes they must try to strengthen their immune system especially their respiratory system.
In relation to blood type, some say that people with A-type blood groups are susceptible to COVID -19. A study carried out in China’s Wuhan and Shenzhen showed this. The scientific base behind it seems to be the binding tendency of proteins present on the surface of viruses with the sugars present on the surface of cells of the host. So should people with blood type A be more worried than others? It might not be true. The study has not yet been peer-reviewed. Regardless, if it is true, it possibly does not have an impact on the overall susceptibility. We all should still be considered at the border of encounter by the virus. It should be concluded that neither the control nor the treatment can be achieved until or unless the etiology and epidemiology of the pandemic are clear.
So, don’t be afraid of the disease, try to strengthen your immunity and take precautions.
