Grocery Sanitization
It is possible that many of the grocery products we’re buying have probably been handled by others who might be Covid infected. Therefore, we must take extra care when handling groceries to avoid spreading the virus to other people and surfaces in our house.
Few of the effective methods of sanitization that can be undertaken out at home include:-
- Keep the new groceries isolated at locations such as porch/ garage/ terrace etc for at least 72 hours to allow the virus to become inactive.
- Discard packaging and transfer the food to a clean container or bag.
- Wipe or wash cans and boxes of food before storing them to reduce possible virus content.
- Scrub fruits and vegetables for at least 20 seconds with soap water followed by rinsing them completely with clean water before storing.
