How to Protect from Corona Virus Infection

Take steps to protect yourself

• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after you have been in a public place and after coughing and sneezing.

• Apply a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until they get dry.

• Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.

• Avoid close contact with people who are ill.

• Put distance between yourself and other people if COVID-19 is spreading in your community. 

Take steps to protect others

• Stay home if you are sick and ask your family to get you medicines.

• Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze or use the inside of your elbow for covering your mouth.

• Throw used tissues in the dustbin.

• Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. 

• If you are sick, wear a facemask when you are around other people. 

•  If you are not able to wear a facemask  then cover your mouth with a cloth or tissue while sneezing.

• Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily which includes tables, doorknobs, light switches, handles, desks, phones, laptop, toilets and sinks.
