About Hospital

Founded in 1931, the new Konkuk University Medical Centre (KUMC) was opened in August 2005. With a mission to promote a healthy community, it prides itself in its "high-quality care, education, and research."
Being a multispeciality Hospital, it has 31 Clinical departments and 23 Centres. It excels in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. In fact, in 2019, it received an award from the Minister of Health and Welfare for its merit on the acute cardioplegia examination. It also received a first rating on its assessment of breast and stomach cancers. The Stroke Centre also obtained a certification from the Korean Stroke Society.
It has an International Health Centre with staff fluent in English, Russian, and Chinese. It also has a Health Centre with cutting-edge medical devices and personalised packages suited for the patient's lifestyle.
In 2018, it received a first rating for 4 major cancers (colorectal, breast, lung, and stomach) in the adequacy assessment.
It is a certified senior-friendly hospital, the first in Korea. It also received a certification from the UNICEF as a baby-friendly hospital.
The Hospital is equipped with ultra-modern machines like the da Vinci Xi system which enables the surgeon to accurately operate. This robotic surgery empowers them to have the highest success rate and the safest robotic-assisted surgery to date.
