Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

If your IVF treatment is not successful or suitable, there are some other alternative options such as intrauterine insemination (IUI), intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), and donor egg or sperm.

The typical success rate for IVF treatments depends on the individual health of women and men. For women under the age of 35, the average success rate is approximately 40-50% per cycle. Age and health factors also affect these rates because aged women have a higher tendency of developing health conditions such as endometriosis and uterine fibroids that can impact fertility.

There are some specific diagnostic services required in the hospitals before beginning an IVF cycle such as blood tests, HIV, Hepatitis B and C, ovarian reserve test, follicle-stimulating hormone value, semen analysis, hysterosalpingogram, and ultrasound.

Under the ART Act, the identity of sperm or egg donors is kept confidential. However, the Act also says that the child born through IVF has the right to obtain non-identifiable information about the donor when they turn 18. While maintaining donor anonymity, the child has the right to know certain information about the donor such as genetic traits and medical history.
