- Prof. Park Young-Kyu is a leading GI Surgeon with +29 years of experience in performing surgeries of the GI tract.
- He holds professional memberships of several national and international medical societies. Some of which are, the International Gastric Cancer Association, the Korean Surgical Society, Korean Society of Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgery, Korean Cancer Association and the Korean Society of Surgical Oncology.
- Prof. Young-Kyu completed his medical studies from the Medical School, Chonnam National University in 1986. He then did his PG in 1989 and Ph.D in 1998.
- He is an expert surgeon of gastric cancer, gastrectomy, and is a laparoscopic surgeon too.
- Some of his clinical interests include, multidisciplinary approach for improving the long term result in advanced gastric cancer, enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS), nutrition and cancer, laparoscopic gastrectomy in far advanced cancer, function preserving laparoscopic gastrectomy for early gastric cancer and basic and translational research for gastric cancer development and progression based on HOX gene regulation.
