He is a member of the Korean Surgical Society, a Lifetime Member of the Korean Breast Cancer Society, and the Korean Cancer Society.
He completed his Graduation from the College of Medicine, The Catholic University of Korea in 1991, and started his residency at the same university thereafter.
Furthermore, he completed his M.S. and Ph.D. in Medicine (Surgery) in 2002 and 2009 respectively from Yonsei University.
He has also completed his training at Dana Farber Cancer Institute affiliated with Harvard Medical School, the USA in 2011.
