Dr. Chew Yoon Chong Winston is an orthopedic surgeon having more than 30 years of expertise.
Services provided by him includes arthroscopy of the wrist and small joints of the hand, fractures of the distal radius and hand, hand and microsurgery, microsurgical reconstruction of both upper and lower limbs including replantations, vascularised free-flap and toe-to-and transfers, reconstruction for deformities of rheumatoid of degenerative arthritis and total joint replacement for the wrist and fingers.
Dr. Chew earned his MBBS from NUS in 1989, the year he graduated. He entered advanced surgical training in orthopaedics after earning his higher surgical credentials [(MMed (Surg), FRCS(Ed), FRCS(Glas)] and successfully completed it to become a specialist in Orthopaedic Surgery [FAMS (Orth)]. In 2001, he also became a member of the Academy of Medicine of Singapore.
He was given a scholarship through the Ministry of Health's Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) because of his particular interest in hand and microsurgery to pursue advanced training in the field at Louisville, Kentucky's renowned Christine M. Kleinert Institute for Hand and Microsurgery/Kleint-Kutz Hand Care Center. After his return, he continued on to graduate in hand surgery in 2002, becoming one of only two doctors to hold dual certification in orthopaedic and hand surgery. Since 1996, he has worked at Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
