Veneers typically last between 10 and 15 years.

Veneer lasts approximately 10-12 years. They do not require any special care other than regular brushing, flossing and visits to the prosthodontist. If they are properly cared for then they can last much longer.

You can drink coffee and sweet tea to your heart's content without fear of staining your veneers or damaging your new smile.

Yes, brush and floss normally as you would so as to prevent dental problems.

Veneers will maintain the same beautiful, bright white shade for years after their application.

Porcelain veneers are thin wafer like custom made shells of tooth colored material which is designed to cover the front surface of teeth to improve the appearance of teeth. These are bonded to the front surface of teeth to change  colour, shape, size and length of your teeth.

Even though porcelain veneers are permanent but their replacement is needed at some point in life, it can even last for decades if you properly take care of them. In some patients replacement is not needed at all.

Porcelain veneers can last anywhere from 10 to 30 years, but you have to follow some precautions such as you should not apply any excessive pressure because porcelain is glass it can get shattered with excessive pressure.

Yes, porcelain veneers are definitely worth as they last longer as composite veneers material are not strong and resistible. They are best suitable for treating smaller problems such as chipped tooth

Most patient does not report of any pain or discomfort during the treatment this procedure is minimally invasive. Only preparation needed for veneer is removal of a thin layer of enamel from teeth.

Porcelain veneers are much stronger and better than composite veneer they will work better for you if you are looking to improve the appearance of teeth.  Even though porcelain veneer are needed to be replaced they last longer than composite veneer and not cause stain.

During the Procedure (3 Questions):

It will take around three weeks to put porcelain veneers for initial consultation to tooth preparation and to veneer bonding.

In bonding porcelain veneers a luting composite is being used for bonding to the tooth. Porcelain veneers are etched to tooth structure.

For placing porcelain veneers it involves grinding the tooth structure sometimes just removing the enamel from your tooth. After preparing the tooth impression are taken and the work is being sent to the laboratory till  and then veneers are fabricated and placed over the tooth.

Just follow three simple steps, Brush your teeth at least twice a day, Floss your teeth at least once a day and rinse your mouth with an antiseptic mouthwash once or twice a day.

Some of the disadvantage of porcelain veneers are once they are bonded it is difficult to remove, they are can cause tooth sensitivity and they are susceptible to damage.

Some of the advantages of porcelain veneers are:

  1. They are easily tolerated by gums
  2. Thye are stain resistant
  3. They don’t require much shaping then crown and they are stronger.
  4.  Dark teeth can be selected to make appear whiter

You may have some sensitivity, there can be some issues related to colour matching, there can be  decay, this cannot be a good choice for you if you have an unhealthy teeth or poor layer of enamel. You cannot clench or grind your teeth after veneers.

After placing your veneers you should stay in touch with your dentist for follow up and you should make sure that veneers are in place and they are comfortable for you. You should not bite any hard objects, bite nails,  avoid grinding of teeth and chewing very hard foods.
