The space is filled with sterile fluid at first then some changes happens in the chest physiology such as such shifting of mediastinum diaphrahm and narrowing of the intercostals space which eliminates the residual space.

You can sleep in any position which is comfortable for you, some patients need to sleep in upright position some time it may be painful on your side.

The recovery time after lung surgery is 2 to 7 days, once you go home from hospital it will take you around few weeks to months to recover completely.

Chemotherapy lowers the risk of your cancer occurrence and also improves your prognosis, chemotherapy and radiation together make the treatments more effective, after surgery you may also be recommended targeted therapy or immunotherapy.
