The  goal of liver resection is complete removal of the tumor and the surrounding tissues by completing removing the tumor. This process is for those who have one or two small liver.

The patients who have liver resection with two or small tumors can go for liver resection with no invasion of blood vessels.

When you remove a portion of liver the remaining portion of the liver will definitely grows back but if there is cirrhosis it will not grow back.

Liver resection surgery is being done for the treatment of hepatic neoplasm both benign and malignant. The most common malignant neoplasm of the liver are metastases which arises from colorectal cancer are the most common. After your liver resection your liver will be sore for about one to two weeks, you may also have some nausea, diarrhoea, constipation, acidity or headache.  You may also have low fever, tiredness and sickness after few days of surgery.

The liver has the ability to grow back within three months of the surgery the remaining part of your liver will grow back to its normal size.
