It is the process of surgical removal of the foreskin, the tissue covering the head (glans) of the penis. It is commonly performed on the first or second day after birth. The procedure becomes more complicated and riskier in older babies, children, and men.
Procedure takes about 60 min & is carried out under general anaesthesia.
Step1: Anaesthesia is given
Step 2: Foreskin is freed from the head of the penis, and the excess foreskin is clipped off.
Step 3: In the end, penis will be covered with an ointment, such as petroleum jelly, and wrapped loosely with gauze.
Complete recovery takes 7-10 days.
