Cheek implants is a procedure performed to add body and contour to the cheeks that lack definition. Individuals with weak cheek structure, a narrow or flat face or who have lost cheek contour due to the effects of age can benefit from the aesthetic enhancement that cheek augmentation can provide.
Procedure takes approximately 60 min & is performed under general anaesthesia.
Step 1: Anaesthesia is given to the patient
Step 2: Incision -Small incision is made in the mouth or lower eyelids (When the implant is not used in conjunction with any other plastic surgery treatment).
Step 3: Implants placement: they are placed into small pockets made by the surgeon in the cheek tissue.
Step 4: Closure of the incision. Dissolvable sutures are mostly used.
Patient is advised to wear a facial compression garment, which helps in minimizes the swelling that a patient might experience after the surgery.
Complete recovery can take 2 to 4 weeks.
