Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring is a device which measures your blood pressure while you moves around with your normal life. During the Procedure (4 Questions):

An electronic monitor reads your blood pressure by inflating a cuff around your upper arm and pressure is being releases slowly.  The blood pressure monitoring device will be placed inside a protective cover so it is important that it should remain there till it is monitors, the machine takes the blood pressure readings at regular interval throughout the day. This is around every 15-30 minutes during the day and for 30 to 60 minutes for night. When your machine has stored all the readings then it is needed to be analyzed.

To check that the machine is working properly you have to check that the tube is not twisted or bend. When the machine is about to take reading you should sit down, keep the cuff at the same level, keep your arm still and do not cross your leg during recording.

You don’t need to do anything while you are being tested it is important for you to carry your normal routine with all the activities you do but you should avoid doing vigorous exercise.

You should wear loose fitting clothes the monitor will be fitted below your top and you should always wear a belt to which the monitor is attached.

Post the Procedure (3 Questions):

Yes, you can sleep while keeping the monitor on this will help you in understanding what changes are made in your blood pressure while you are sleeping.

You should avoid showering or bathing when it is measured when you decide to take bath or shower you need to take off the monitor and the cuffs as they are not waterproof and can get wet. 

Patient is being advised to not to go to gym or exercise while keeping the monitor they can go for gentle brisk walk.
