Ms Alemtsehay Aleye from Ethiopia could barely walk and required the help of a stick to take each step. How did the knee pain affect your day-to-day life?
In 2015, I started having problems in moving properly. My knees would lock at times. Due to the intense pain, trying to walk a few steps seemed to be an onerous ordeal. I tried several medications and physiotherapy but nothing seemed to work.

The x-ray and MRI reports revealed that the cartilages of my knees had totally worn out and I required an immediate knee replacement surgery.
Did the surgery go well?
It’s hard to believe how quickly I am back to being me again. I am able to enjoy walks and perform daily tasks without the pain and rigidity I faced before. Dr. Vivek Mahajan has performed the knee replacement surgery so deftly that within a day or two post surgery, I am able to walk seamlessly. The worn out knee cartilages are completely replaced. I was a bit skeptical about the knee implants but he assured me before the surgery that they have a life expectancy of two to three decades and that my knees will not be affected of any infection.
