15-year-old Sahaud Aude from Cameroon had a simple life with her family and friends as any teenager of her age would. But she suffered from scoliosis, a congenital disease in which the normal structure of the spine is bent over time deforming the stout posture of the human body. Not prominent in her early years the bent aggravated as each year passed and she inclined more on the left side of her body till standing up or sitting down became onerous. Here, Aude shares her experience of restoring the correct shape of her spine again in India:
Where did you have your treatment in India?
Artemis Hospital in Gurgaon was where I had my treatment. A scoliosis correction surgery was performed on my spine by Dr. Hitesh Garg.
How do you feel post surgery?
I feel so happy and so relieved. I cannot express in words how ecstatic I was when after a couple of days post the scoliosis surgery, I flexed my back and stood up straight. I pay my heartiest gratitude to Dr. Garg for providing me with such a phenomenal treatment. My spine has been restored to its natural form and structure. Nothing can be more memorable and special to me than this. My mother and I looked for treatment options online. We were really desperate to find a proper hospital where scoliosis treatment was available and panicked because my back was not in a good condition at all.
