- After losing a staggering weight of 262kgs in the past two months, Eman's treatment now takes a turn to neurological rehabilitation.
- She has been paralysed by stroke that had hit her about three years ago.
- Because of this reason there is little to no muscular movement that resulted in further obesity related complications.
- She experiences occasional seizures and difficulties in swallowing liquids and speaking properly.
- Eman is now being provided physiotherapy sessions as a part of the treatment.
- According to Dr. Lakdawala, the challenge of the treatment of obesity has been already won over.
- Eman's body efficiency has increased to 60% that had earlier been stuck to only 5%.
- Her obesity related problems like chronic hypothyroidism, lymphoedema, right-sided heart failure, severe obstructive respiratory disease, renal failure are all under control.
- Over time, Eman can now sit on wheelchair as well, a task that was quite impossible for her a few months back.
- She has also been shifted to a normal hospital bed from the customized one room hospital she was in till now.
- Doctors are now trying hard to diagnose and cure her neurological problems.
- 12 April 2017:
- Since the time Eman Ahmed arrived in India for her bariatric treatment at Saifee Hospital, Mumbai, she has lost 242kgs.
- Vouched as the heaviest woman in the world, before her treatment Eman weighed 504kgs.
- She was put on a specialised diet for over a month before she went under the knife for her laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy surgery.
- Post surgery Eman's organ functioning improved as her weightloss paced up.
- Her heart, kidney and lungs are functioning better and her water retention level is under control.
- According to Dr. Lakdawala, her post surgery improvements of have been beyond expectaion as she has lost 50 per cent of her weight and is recovering steadily.
- Now, the only thing that's keeping Eman from complete recovery is her paralysis of the right side of her body.
- Doctors suspect that the occasional seizures that she suffers from must be the affects of the brain stroke that she had three years ago.
- Eman will now undergo a CT Scan for further investigations regarding her paralysis.

- Eman Ahmed Abdulati, who is claimed to be the heaviest woman in the world, has lost 120kgs within a month of her treatment.
- The bariatric procedure of sleeve gastrectomy surgery was performed on her by Dr. Muffazal Lakdawala and his team at Saifee Hosital on March 7.
- She had already lost about 50 kgs within 12 days of her treatment.
- After the surgery she now weighs 380kgs.
- Eman is now under a procedure that will help her lose 200kgs in the coming 6 months.
- According to Dr. Lakdawala she was so happy with her treatment that she started dancing in her bed.
- Dr Lakdawala also added that as the water content in her body has reduced, she has lost a significant amount of weight.
- But the most challenging part of the treatment to reduce the fat in her body is still left.
- As the treatment proceeds further, Dr. Lakdawala wishes to reduce 80kgs more before sending Eman back home.
- She will undergo her next surgery in the next year.

She will have to lose 200kgs within the first six months. The doctors' primary aim is to make her sit and eat on her own.

- Eman Ahmed Abdulati is a big fan of Bollywood actor, Salman Khan, and wishes to meet him.
- The actor’s father, Salim Khan who is also a veteran screenwriter has promised that Salman will surely visit her once they get an official request from the hospital.
- According to Dr. Lakdawala, she has been watching Bollywood movies since the time she has arrived at Saifee Hospital in Mumbai.
- She may not understand the language but she loves the beats of Bollywood music and expresses her desire to meet her favorite Khan, Salman.
- Eman has even expressed her desire to shake a leg with Bollywood heartthrob Hrithik Roshan once she is cured.
- According to her sister, Shaima Ahmed, the Roshan family has already donated Rs.10 Lakh for Eman’s treatment.
- Hrithik’s sister Sunaina Roshan and mother, Pinky Roshan had already visited Eman in the hospital.
- Soon after meeting Eman, the actor’s sister, Sunaina Roshan took to social media to encourage Eman and appreciated her for her positive spirit.

- 18 February 2017:
- It has been just 5 days that Eman Ahmed has arrived in India and she has already lost 30kgs.
- Having lost the mentioned weight she can move her limbs.
- She sleeps for 8 hours a day and is strictly on a 1200 calorie diet with the required fibre and protein.
- According to Doctor Mufazzal, the operation table at Saifee Hospital cannot take a weight of more than 450kgs whereas the width of the hospital is 141cms.
- Eman is 151cms.
- Only three weeks are left before her first bariatric surgery at the hospital.
- Doctors are aiming to bring down Eman's weight by 200kgs by 2017.
- Eman is on dialysis right now and doctors keep a check that there is her diet is perfectly maintained so that it doesn't affect her kidney.
- She wakes sharp at 7:30am in the morning and is thereafter fed every 2 hours.
- About 70 - 100 kgs in her body constitutes only of fluid.
- According to Dr. Mufazzal her skin was as hard as a stone when she arrived at the hospital, now it has softened.
- Before coming to the hospital Eman slept for only 2 - 3 hours as she suffered from severe restrictive lung disease.
- She has now been put on a sleep - nap machine.
- She faces difficulty in swallowing food.
- To feed her properly two special pipes will be used that will be connected to a very tiny tube that is used to feed infants.

- From today, Eman would be under liquid diet as she has to reduce 50kgs within 25 days to undergo sleeve gastrectomy.
- Her intake will be split into 6-7 times a day.
- Her diet includes liquid supplements rich in protein, fibre and dairy supplements.
- Eman will also be undergoing rigorous physiotherapy that would burn fat, enhance blood circulation and mobilise joints.
- According to Dr. Lakdawala since Eman have been bed ridden for more than two decades, some parts of her body has become completely immobile.
- After her first surgery, Eman will be provided with a strict exercise regimen coupled with suitable diet.

- The total time required for Eman's complete treatment is 4 years.
- Rs. 83 Lakh is spent only on Eman's transportation from Alexandria, Egypt to Mumbai, India.

- Through Dr. Lakdawala's Save Eman campaign, an amount of Rs.1crore is to be collected.
- According to Dr. Lakdawala, Eman maybe operated after 4 weeks.
- Over the next month doctors will be working on treating her water retention problems through medication and a protein-rich diet.
- Eman will be able to reduce 50 - 60kgs in a month through this treatment.
- To provide her with a proper treatment. doctors have chalked out a 4 year plan that involves two operations, diet plans and physiotherapy sessions.
- Within the six months she will be staying in Mumbai, Eman may lose about a 100kgs.
- The doctors are going to perform a sleeve gastrectomy surgery.
- After a year of this treatment and after loosing another 100 kilos she will again return to Mumbai to undergo SADI, a new surgical procedure for the reduction of her intestinal loops.
- According to Dr. Lakdawala, if Eman's obesity is found out to be a genetic abnormality, then further medications can help.
- Right now, Eman is suffering from a lot of medical conditions comprising of severe lymphedema, water retention disability, paralysis in her right arm and leg, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, hyperthyroidism and severe obstructive and restrictive lung disease.

- Eman Ahmed Abdulati, the heaviest woman in the world, arrives at Mumbai International Airport at 4:10am.
- She was taken to Saifee hospital by an open truck.
- She was accompanied by her sister and two doctors.
- She along with her modified bed was loaded on the truck with the help of a crane.
- She was escorted to the hospital by an ambulance and a police van.
- Bariatric surgeon, Dr. Muffazzal Lakdawala will be providing her with the treatment.
- According to the Dr. Lakdawala she will have to undergo multiple surgeries.
- Dr. Lakdawala expects that she will be able to lose around 400kgs by 2-3 years post surgery.

- Eman's transportation from Egypt to India was a major problem.
- Not one airline was ready to provide her with air services because of her weight.
- Finally, Egypt Air has constructed a customized airbus that has the capacity of 300-600 freight.
- It also has a large cargo door and a spcious main deck so that she does not face any inconvenience during her journey.

- Saifee Hospital in Mumbai builds a customized one room hospital for recieving the world's heaviest woman, Eman Ahmed Abdulati.
- The hospital is spread across 3000 sq ft and is worth Rs 2.crore.
- This one room hospital consists of an operation theatre, an ICU, a doctor's room, an attendant's room, two restrooms and a video conferencing room.
- The deadline to complete the construction of the hospital was January 31, 2017.

- Lets take a detour to how the treatment of the World's Heaviest Woman became possible:
- Eman Ahmed Abdulati is 36 years old who has not gone out of the house for more than 25 years.
- She has been bedridden for 13 years since she underwent a cerebral stroke at a very young age.
- Also, she cannot move from one place to another.
- She weighs 500 kgs.
- She is suffering from obesity since birth.
- Doctors back in Egypt had diagnosed that she had elephantitis.
- As she grew, her condition worsened.
- Desperate, her sister sought treatments around the world.
- Finally when Dr. Muffazzal Lakdawala came across her case, he was ready to provide Eman with a treatment.
- But the journey from India to Egypt was a major problem.
- It is because Eman's medical visa was cancelled as she could not accompany her family to the Indian Embassy in Egypt.
- Furthermore, no airline was ready to take the risk of carrying her to India.
- Dr. Lakdawala, therefore, asked for help over twitter from Sushma Swaraj, the Indian Union Minister of External Affairs.
- Immediatly after she recieved the tweet she granted Eman her medical visa to come to India for treatment.
