- After surviving a 12 hour long surgery and six heart attacks in the last two months, Four-month-old Vidisha is claimed to be a "miracle baby".
- When she was brought to B.J. Wadia Hospital, Vidisha was diagnosed with transposition of the great arteries.
- It is a rare condition in which the position of aorta and the pulmonary artery is altered.
- The anatomy of her heart was different from that of a normal heart, said her pediatric cardiac surgeon, Dr. Biswa Panda.
- Though the function of her heart improved post surgery, her poorly formed lungs could not adjust to the sudden correction.
- Due to such an imbalance, she had to stay in the ICU for 51 days and suffered cardiac arrest six times.
- Vidisha was provided with high-frequency oscillatory ventillator to stabilize her lungs.
- She will be discharged from the hospital in a few days.
