- Met with a fatal accident 45-year-old farmer from Pune underwent severe head injuries.
- By the time he was brought to Ruby Hall Clinic, doctors declared him as brain dead.
- But his death saved the lives of five patients in Pune and Chennai through organ transplantation.
- After his family was councilled, vital organs from his body, such as the lungs, heart, liver and kidney were retrieved.
- Both of his lungs were extracted by expert doctors from Fortis Malar Hospital, Chennai, who flew to Ruby Hall Clinic and transported the organ to Chennai.
- The patient suffering from an end stage lung disease was, thereafter, bestowed with another life after a successful liver transplant at the hospital.
- Similarly, his heart was transplanted to a 59-year-old woman who was suffering from cardiomyopathy and heart failure whereas his liver was donated to a liver cirrhosis patient.
- His kidneys were further donated to two patients suffering from kidney transplant at Ruby Hall Clinic and Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital respectively.
